Businesses: nearly 700 more companies in Q1 2026

Rome, April 22, 2026 –Italy’s business system opens 2026 with an unexpected sign of vitality: there were 690 more companies between January and March, resulting from the difference between 105,051 registrations and 104,361 closures. This is a countertrend result, considering that the first quarter is historically affected by the consolidation of closures carried over from the end of the previous year. The only precedent in the past decade dates back to 2021, but in an exceptional context shaped by pandemic dynamics.
